What is a Certified Quality Salmon (CQS) Company & Certified Products?

Certification to the CQS program is not guaranteed.

Only Applicants who transparently meet the Certified Quality Salmon Standard can attain Certified Status. A Certified Quality Salmon company is one which has fully met one of the Specific Standards.

A Certified Eco-Label Product is from a company that has been certified as meeting the Eco-Salmon Standard. Before a company is eligible for the Eco-Salmon Standard, however, they must be in full compliance with the Freshwater, Salt Water and Salmon Packing Standards first and on an ongoing basis thereafter. That ensures solid adherence to a comprehensive range of best practices across all aspects of company operations.

Certified product is that which is traceable to a Certified Company and which meets a stringent product quality specification with regards to freshness, visual appearance, taste and texture.

Certified Companies can choose to use a Certification Mark to highlight their achievements. Some examples of Certification Marks used are:
